FAQ

  • How do I determine the size to order for my existing pot?
    1) Take the measurement from the INSIDE rim to the INSIDE rim directly across the center of the top of your existing planter. 2) Measure the interior height. 3) Measure the interior width of the base. If your existing planter is deeper than our insert, that's okay, it is an easy fix to raise our insert using bricks or bark. Dimensions of our inserts: Medium: 12.5" wide across center of top rim, 11" tall, tapering to 8.5" wide at base Large:: 14.25" wide across center of top rim, 13" tall, tapering to 10" wide at base XL: 16.5" wide across center of top rim, 16.25" tall, tapering to 10.5" wide at base Square: 12.5" wide across center of top rim, 11.5" tall, tapering to 7.5" wide at base
  • How do I determine the sun exposure?
If the location of your planter gets 6 or more hours of sun, choose sun. If it receives less than 6 hours of sun, and is not in direct afternoon sun, choose shade. Shade locations are okay with gentler morning sun.
  • What areas do you service?
We currently deliver to the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area including Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek.
  • Do I need to be home to receive the delivery?
No, we will leave the planter right at your front door or in your driveway. You will receive an email the week beforehand with the delivery date and care instructions for your planter. An email notification will also be sent when we drop the insert at your home. Please let us know if we need a code to get through a gate.
  • Do you remove last season's insert?
No, but the previous insert can be easily composted in your green waste bin. Some clients will replant some of the plants into their gardens.
  • How do I take care of my planter?
Our goal is to make life beautiful and EASY for you. All you NEED to do is water regularly. We apply a slow release fertilizer to the planters to ensure long lasting blooms throughout all three months of the season. Every delivery will come with a care sheet, but only watering is necessary!
  • How often do I water my planter?
How often you water depends on your sun exposure and the season. The best way to monitor is to put your finger into the soil two inches deep. If it's dry, water. You may also notice the plants drooping - that's a sure sign they are overdue for water. A shady location will likely need 1-2x/week. A sunny location in the summer may need watering 3x/week, and you may notice it's the smallest plants on the edges that risk drying out the fastest. When you water, be sure to water close to the soil, not on top of the plants.
  • How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is FREE from Ka-BLOOM Pow to the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area and within our seasonal delivery date window. We are currently delivering to the following areas: Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek.
  • Where can I purchase pots?
We offer a few pots that fit our inserts perfectly here, but I also recommend supporting your local businesses. I've purchased many beautiful pots from these local suppliers over the years: Pottery Planet (San Ramon, Los Gatos, Santa Cruz), Pottery and Beyond (Emeryville), Pot and Pottery Outlet (Sunol - the one you see from the 680 freeway), Summerwinds Nursery (Dublin), Sloat Garden Center (Danville), Alden Lane Nursery (Livermore), and Orchard Nursery (Lafayette).
